Terms of Service

Effective September 2, 2026. Vertex is operated by Vertex Maps LLC ("we", "us").

1. The service

Vertex is a mountain weather and mapping service available at vertexmap.app and through the Vertex app for iPhone. Forecasts, observations, terrain and hazard layers are produced from public and licensed data sources and are provided for planning and informational purposes only.

2. Accounts

You sign in with an email address. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access to that inbox secure. You may delete your account at any time from the app or by emailing us.

3. Vertex Pro subscriptions

• Plans. Vertex Pro is offered as a monthly plan at $4.99/month and an annual plan at $29.99/year, in US dollars. Prices exclude any applicable taxes.
• Free trial. New subscribers get one free month. A payment method is required to start the trial. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription begins and you are charged the plan price.
• Automatic renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled. You will be charged at the then-current price for your plan at each renewal.
• Cancelling. Cancel any time. Web subscriptions are managed from the customer portal linked in your account panel and in your receipt emails; App Store subscriptions are managed in your Apple ID settings. Cancelling stops future charges; you keep Pro until the end of the period you have paid for.
• Refunds. Charges are non-refundable except where required by law. If something went wrong, email us and we will work it out.
• One subscription, every platform. A Vertex Pro subscription bought on the web or in the iPhone app unlocks Pro on both when you sign in with the same account.

4. Weather, terrain and hazard information

Mountain weather is uncertain and terrain data has errors. Forecast models, avalanche products, slope angles, airspace boundaries and similar layers may be wrong, incomplete, delayed or missing. Vertex is not a substitute for official forecasts, avalanche bulletins, NOTAMs, your own observations or your own judgment. Do not rely on Vertex as your only source of safety-critical information. You are solely responsible for decisions made in the mountains and in the air.

5. Acceptable use

Do not scrape, resell or redistribute the data served through Vertex, interfere with the service, or attempt to bypass access controls or subscription checks. Personal, non-commercial use only unless we agree otherwise in writing.

6. Your content

Tracks, markers, lines and other content you sync to Vertex stay yours. You grant us a licence to store and process them so the service can work. You may export or delete them at any time.

7. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any injury, loss or damage arising from reliance on information shown in Vertex. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

8. Changes

We may update the service and these terms. Material changes to pricing or terms will be announced in the app or by email before they take effect. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
